Quay Village The Quay, Westport, Co. Mayo. 3* - 4* Sleeps 3/5, 2 Bedroom. This is a four star Bord Failte approved property. These apartments consist of two bedroom units each with their own private entrance, which were built around a stone lined courtyard, which serves as the car park for the complex. Quay Village is located just above the Quay area of Westport and is within 100 meters of the sea. Some apartments have limited views of the sea. The lively harbour area is just a short stroll away as are the gates of Westport’s historic ‘Westport House and Country Estate. Many fine restaurants and pubs are but a stroll down the hill. Restaurants such as The Quay Cottage, The Asgard and Ardmore House are very close by also as are the well-known pubs such as The Helm, The Towers and The Quays. In the ‘Village’ one has the advantage of a very large convenience store, which stays open until 9.pm at night. Part of the complex also includes a very tastefully decorated café where one can enjoy a break with some tasty food The apartments themselves are of two storey construction with the bedrooms downstairs and the living area upstairs. Upstairs is of open plan design with the kitchen/living room area taking up the entire top floor. As the apartments are Bord Failte 4* standard (highest standard available), they want for nothing in the line of appliances. Each apartment comes with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine/dryer, iron and ironing board and all the necessary crockery and cutlery to match. Linen is provided with duvets, towels are also provided free of charge. A child’s cot and high chair are available on request. No linen is provided for the child's cot. Accommodation offered comprises one double bed in the main bedroom, which has an ensuite, the second bedroom contains a single bed and there is a bathroom also. For added convenience upstairs the couch in the living room pulls out into a double bed settee. The apartment therefore sleeps 3/5. Heating is by electric storage heaters. There is also a colour T.V. and video provided in each apartment. No pets are allowed and there is ample parking on site. Directions from the Octagon, Westport Take the Coast Road from The Octagon, Westport. Driving out of town, you will see ‘McCarthy’s’ pub on your right hand side and ‘Ring’s Auctioneer’s’ on your left. As you reach the top of the hill (Quay Hill) there is a high stone wall, approximately eight feet in height, on your right. Follow this wall out to The Quay, a distance in excess of a half a mile, as you approach Quay Village, you will notice a ‘Centra Supermarket’ on your left hand side, the entrance to Quay Village is just on the left after this. There are a total of 36 apartments in the Quay Village Development. |
