A little further afield lies Connemara, and the towns of Louisburgh, Leenane, Letterfrack and the stunning Achill Island - designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Louisburgh is a very popular tourist town. It has many pubs and boasts a top quality restaurant with two of the pubs offering bar food. Louisburgh has the advantage of not getting overly crowded even during the high tourist season. If you wish to visit a busy tourist town Westport is only a short drive away. The cottage is ideally located for touring North Connemara, shore fishing and many other outdoor activities.
